Are plug-in vehicles dependable?

Battery Electric Vehicles are the most dependable vehicles made. EVs have the potential to last as long as or longer than gasoline automobiles, with less regular maintenance. (no smog checks, oil changes or tune-ups) and have fewer than 1/10th as many parts as a gas car. There is no engine, transmission, spark plugs, valves, fuel tank, tailpipe, distributor starter, clutch, muffler or catalytic converter. Even the best-kept gas car will eventually need a new engine. An electric motor has a virtually infinite life span.
